 Hardrock Mining
FLSMidth Krebs has been providing hydrocyclones for closed circuit grinding in copper and other base metal mines since 1952. Krebs was a pioneer in replacing mechanical classifiers with hydrocyclones in the 1950’s and 1960’s. The Krebs "D" Series Hydrocyclones (elastomer liner or metallurgical hydrocyclones) have been the standard design since then. The Krebs "D" Series Hydrocyclones in complete with fully replaceable rubber liners inside metal housings. Since 1952 numerous design and material improvements have been made including the introduction of our complete line of Super Cyclones and the introduction of the DS33 Cyclones which at 33 inches in diameter is the largest cyclone available in the world with replaceable rubber liners for all housing sections.
In addition to closed circuit grinding, Krebs Cyclones are commonly used for tailings and desliming applications. Krebs has performed numerous laboratory and pilot plant tests to determine the exact performance of hydrocyclones on mill tailings. This is critical as the final quality of quantity of sands must be very well understood in designing the tailings berm. Krebs Cyclones often in combination with a CycloWash attachment are used for desliming tailings for underground backfill. Krebs Cyclones are also used for various desliming applications prior to gravity equipment such as spirals, jigs, and concentrators.
